New Image for KFC revitalises Outdoor Seating Area 1

The customer's brief was to enhance their external area, making it more appealing, welcoming and to increase the impact of the brand on the busy retail park.  In addition KFC wanted to promote their new image and logo focussing on ‘so good’ and dropping the ‘finger licking’.  
 
AEL accurately surveyed the area and provided detailed visuals, including a plan layout.  This provided a very clear impression of what the finished result would look like and also enabled KFC to submit the plans to the landlord to obtain approval.
 
In agreement with the customer, the first step was to remove and replace the metal railings with attractive wooden planters including realistic replica plants. These were instrumental in achieving the goal of softening the area to create a relaxed environment for customers to sit outside.  Replica plants were key, as they are maintenance free and look the part all year round, no matter the weather or season. The banners were placed between each planter to maximise branding at eye level along with the new 'KFC' logo. All of this work was undertaken by AEL staff and completed the first stage of creating the boundaries for area management whilst screening the area from road noise, dirt and dust.
 
In order to maximising the new brand, a bright KFC red giant umbrella was installed, clearly branded with the new KFC logo.   This gives the site massive impact. 

A waterproof Giant Umbrella with Heat and Light was neatly installed by AEL using an in-ground sleeve.  The Heat and light were wired on to the frame becoming an integrated part of the umbrella. These additional features enables the customer to offer outdoor seating in unfavourable weather, significantly extending the trading hours the area can be used.

The seating in the area needed to be robust and fixed to the ground due to the high turnover of customers. AEL supplied their stylish yet robust 'All-Rounder' benches. Like the planters these are designed and manufactured in the AEL factory in Reading, Berkshire, then delivered and secured in the correct position as per the plan layout. 

AEL undertook the entire job with from design to completed installation.  The one-stop shop service provided by AEL made the project seamless for KFC. 
Most importantly, KFC are delighted with the result as the transformation of the external area has helped revitalise the area and the image of KFC.
