Services:The Challenge for the Flirt Café
Flirt Café, a popular independent venue in Bournemouth, set out to refresh its outdoor seating area, aiming to create a space that was both welcoming and practical for customers. Faced with a tight budget and a strong commitment to sustainability, the team focused on reusing and repurposing wherever possible, without sacrificing character or quality.
To make it happen, they turned to us. They were looking for creative, cost-effective ideas that would bring their vision to life while staying true to the café’s unique personality and values.
Our Approach
We delivered a practical and creative upcycling solution that demonstrated how far resourcefulness can go in transforming a space.
First, we brought several of our café chairs, wooden garden furniture sale previously earmarked for disposal, back to life. After cleaning and restoring them, these chairs were ready for service again, making them the perfect fit for the café’s refreshed outdoor area.
Next, we took an umbrella from the café and gave it a new lease of life by fitting it with a protective membrane. This upgrade not only offered reliable shelter for customers but also extended the umbrella’s lifespan, making it a smart, sustainable choice.
To keep costs in check, we supplied tables from our ex-loan stock. These tables were fully functional, in excellent condition, and demonstrated that sustainability and quality can easily go hand in hand, even on a budget.
Additionally, we installed a string of festoon lights to create a warm and inviting evening atmosphere. The lighting not only added character to the space but also encouraged customers to relax and linger longer, increasing the café’s appeal in the evenings.
Finally, the planters were sourced from a nearby business that needed a new home to introduce greenery and charm to the space. These planters added a personal, local touch, completing the transformation and making the outdoor area feel fresh and inviting.
The Result
As a result, the outcome is a vibrant and inviting wooden garden furniture sale and outdoor area that’s full of personality. Importantly, it was achieved entirely through repurposed materials and sustainable choices. Consequently, Flirt Café now enjoys an upgraded space that not only reflects their ethos but also engages their customers. Above all, it stands as clear proof that great design doesn’t have to mean starting from scratch.
