We were delighted to work with Ottolenghi Hampstead, a much-loved London restaurant celebrated for its vibrant dishes, welcoming atmosphere, and modern design. The aim of the project was to create an outdoor space that matched the charm and comfort of their interior — a spot where guests could relax and enjoy their dining experience, whatever the weather.

Back in 2021, we had the pleasure of working with Bel & The Dragon at The Red Lion in Wendover, a historic inn known for its warm hospitality and elegant charm. The goal was to transform their outdoor space into a stylish, comfortable, and functional dining area that could be used throughout the year — perfect for everything from leisurely lunches to evening dining and drinks.

The Blackbird Pub & Bar in Hertford wanted to create an outdoor area that felt as inviting as the atmosphere inside. Their existing setup offered little protection from the weather and lacked the flexibility to serve guests comfortably throughout the year. With more customers choosing to eat and drink outdoors, it was time to make their terrace a space that worked harder, both for guests and staff.

Hindhead Golf Club, one of Surrey’s most scenic golf destinations, wanted to transform its outdoor terrace into a comfortable and stylish area for members and guests to unwind after a round of golf. The club’s goal was to create a welcoming space that complemented its stunning surroundings while offering year-round comfort and practicality.

All Bar One Liverpool was looking to make a statement from the moment guests arrived. Although the view drew people in, the space didn’t feel as welcoming or useful as it could. It lacked comfort, structure, and a sense of privacy. Guests didn’t stay long outside, and the team saw a missed opportunity, especially during warmer months.

The Princess Royal, a well-loved Fuller, Smith & Turner pub in Farnham, approached AEL Outdoor Solutions with a clear goal: refresh the outdoor area to make it more practical, welcoming, and in keeping with the pub’s traditional charm. Our team worked closely with the client to transform the space into a comfortable and attractive setting for guests to enjoy all year round.

The client wanted to upgrade the functionality of the existing pergola and create more seating for increased trade, rain or shine.

The client was looking to open up the space by providing clear glass sides and booth seating to stop the breeze coming from the river Thames.

The client needed to make a statement to draw in trade in a busy area of Cardiff city centre. In a prime location near the main station, national stadium, arena, shopping centre and hotels AEL created a solution for extended trading.

The modern garden room compliments the listed building and allows customers to dine in an outside environment but with the security of the roof being abled to be sealed should English weather strike.

The brief with this project was that they wanted to achieve more covers all year round as he internal space was always filled but maintaining the character of a Bella Italia.

A new area of Paulton’s Park was being designed and AEL worked with the client to deliver the correct look and feel for the theme of the area of the park. The items designed and manufactured by AEL were to be used in the diner in the area both internally and externally all year round.

AEL were contracted to install retractable canopies above an outstanding 14th floor restaurant roof terrace as part of an extensive development in Shoreditch. Seabird restaurant features Stobag Bavona soft top roofs which were delivered a year ahead of install ahead of the dismantling of the site tower crane.

Working on this historical site with the client to provide cover and a comfortable area for visitor to enjoy the food and beverage offerings on site. AEL surveyed the area to ensure the sizes of the areas including furniture and umbrellas…

Hotel Chocolat took St Neots by storm when they opened up their outlet café. We became involved as they wanted to expand their offering to outside. The main aim of the project was to design and build a way of ensuring their customers felt safe eating and drinking outside due to Covid.

The hotel wanted to create a stunning Michelin star restaurant with amazing views of Watergate Bay. The retractable roof structure is on the first-floor terrace above the sea wall, the design proposed was a flat retractable roof system…

A full garden redevelopment, AEL assisted in the transformation of the large outdoor area to a statement space. The original space was generous for the area but bland and underutilised with a large umbrella and a smattering of picnic benches.

The client wanted to extend the use of the sun decked area from 3 months to all year round. We recommended a retractable flat roof structure to match the footprint of the existing suspended decking.

A great project to be involved with from start to finish. Beach side location Rockwater is a upmarket restaurant and bar on Hove seafront. This structure project has showcased the strengths of AEL with not only the product, but it’s design and install team.

This client wanted to get more use from their existing beachside terrace. They had existing giant umbrellas but wanted to take the area to the next level with not only a versatile overhead cover but also the ability to offer some side protection for when the wind picked up and made outside dining impossible.
