The Ferry Country Pub & Restaurant wanted to make better use of its stepped outdoor terrace while ensuring guests could dine comfortably in all conditions. With outdoor seating in high demand, the aim was to turn a challenging layout into a practical, weather-ready space that worked throughout the day and into the evening.

The Challenge for The Ferry Country Pub & Restaurant

The terrace featured fixed steps that made standard furniture difficult to use and limited the number of covers the venue could achieve. The team also needed protection from the elements to keep the space usable year-round. To add pressure, dining tables were required at short notice following a failed delivery from another supplier, leaving the area incomplete just ahead of service.

Our Solution

We designed and installed bespoke booth seating built directly into the stepped layout, turning an awkward area into structured, comfortable dining zones. To ensure the space worked in all weather, we installed awnings complete with integrated heating and lighting, allowing the terrace to remain open even during cooler evenings.

To finish the space and add natural separation, we supplied and installed planters. This helped define seating areas while improving the overall look and flow. We also stepped in with a last-minute supply of dining tables, ensuring the venue could open the space without delay.

The Result

The Ferry’s terrace has been transformed into a functional, inviting outdoor dining area that supports increased capacity and longer dwell times. Guests can now enjoy the space comfortably whatever the weather. While the venue benefits from a layout that’s easier to manage during service and reliable all year round. What was once a difficult step area is now one of the pub’s most valuable seating zones.
