We partnered with Wildwood, Rushden Lakes, to create a fully integrated outdoor space overlooking the lake. The goal was to design an area that complemented its natural surroundings while increasing seating capacity and delivering a comfortable, weather-ready environment for guests.

The Challenge for Wildwood, Rushden Lakes

The venue’s lakeside setting offered stunning views, but the outdoor area needed careful planning. The design had to suit the surrounding environment while meeting landlord requirements and gaining planning approval. At the same time, the client wanted to maximise covers, protect guests from changing weather conditions, and create a space that felt welcoming throughout the year — not just in peak summer months.

Our Solution

Our team managed the project from design through to delivery and installation. We also developed a cohesive scheme that balanced practicality with visual impact, ensuring the space worked naturally within its lakeside setting.

The installation included:

• Giant umbrellas fitted with integrated heating and lighting for all-weather comfort

• Outdoor furniture selected to suit the setting and maximise seating

• Planters to define the space and add structure

• Branded banners to complete the look and strengthen the venue’s presence

Additionally, every element was carefully positioned to optimise layout, improve flow, and increase usable seating capacity.

The Result

The venue now benefits from a fully functional, year-round outdoor dining area that makes the most of its lakeside views. Guests can enjoy food and drinks comfortably in all conditions, while the business has significantly increased its seating capacity.

As a result, the space now supports higher footfall, longer dwell time, and stronger revenue potential — all while maintaining the character and appeal of its unique setting.
